For the last week of our Ample Hills kitchen series, we want to take you inside the kitchen and share with you some of our dedicated staff that work countless hours to make the best ice cream in town.
Rosie came to us via our ops manager Andy. He's been Andy's right hand man for years. He is willing and able to perform just about any kitchen task. He always manages to get the job done even when he's never done anything like it before. And the best part about Rosie is that he is always pleasant, warm and friendly even after spending hours in our -20 degree freezer organizing tubs. His favorite thing to make is Ooey Gooey with Denton as he and Denton have a great system and work well together. His favorite flavor is Strawberries & Cream.
Brett has been our premiere chef at Vanderbilt for the last few years. He was responsible for making all the brownies, Ooey Gooey, and Crack cookies for that shop. And he also made all the mixins and Churned our Vanderbilt shop specific flavor-The Commodore. He's new to our Gowanus kitchen as he was really interested in learning to churn more flavors. His favorite flavor to churn remains The Commodore especially because he now gets to churn it using much bigger machines. His favorite flavor is The Munchies.
Esteban has an incredibly diverse culinary background. He is an experienced chocolatier and ice cream Churner. We are grateful he has chosen us to work with.
His favorite flavor to churn is Dark Chocolate and his latest favorite ice cream is Ooey Gooey Butter Cake.
Laura also worked with our ops manager-Andy at Two Boots on 2nd street. When she left to visit family in Ecuador, we certainly missed her presence in the kitchen. She most enjoys making sure lots of mix-ins get into each pint she packs by hand. Her favorite flavor is Dark Chocolate.
Toure is has been on the night shift and is a jack of all trades. He pints and chops and bakes. He enjoys baking Ooey Gooey the most. His favorite flavor is Strawberries & Cream
