Jersey City, NJ (November 3rd, 2017) — The beloved Brooklyn-based ice cream maker Ample Hills opens their first New Jersey location today in Jersey City, at the Jersey City Urby Development [200 Greene St., Jersey City, NJ; www.amplehills.com]. Founded by Brian Smith and Jackie Cuscuna in 2011, Ample Hills will now have ten locations on the East Coast. The Jersey City location will feature a signature flavor, The Golden Door. The Jersey City Ample Hills menu will include classics such as Ooey Gooey Butter Cake with creamy vanilla ice cream with hunks of St. Louis-style Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, The Munchies with pretzel-infused ice cream with clusters of Ritz crackers, potato chips, pretzels and mini M&M's and Peppermint Pattie featuring peppermint ice cream with semi-sweet chocolate flakes and homemade dark chocolate covered peppermint patties. The new location will additionally feature an exclusive Jersey City flavor, The Golden Door, a reference to Jersey City’s nickname and adopted from the final line in American writer Emma Lazarus’s poem, "The Last Colossus" — the flavor will feature a cannoli filling-infused ice cream with dark chocolate whiskey cake and streusel crumble.
The interior features a custom mural, designed by Ample Hills Creative Director, Lauren Kaelin and highlights Ample Hills’ signature characters Walt, Whitty and PB, telling the story of Ample Hills traveling from Brooklyn to Jersey City. The space will additionally offer a birthday party room and an ice cream-churning stationary bicycle. Ample Hills is open Sunday-Thursday, Noon – 11 pm, and Friday-Saturday from Noon - Midnight.
