Unafraid to crack a joke or break out in song, Max is one of our most charismatic scoopers—and lucky us, he’s been with us since the beginning. In fact, you could say Max has been with us since before the beginning! Way before Ample Hills opened in 2011, our founder Jackie Cuscuna was a school teacher; Max was one of her students. But if we’re being strict, Max has been part of the Ample Hills family (“amployed”) for six years total.
The self-proclaimed “King of the Hillz,” Max is never shy about telling guests his favorite (and least favorite) flavors, suggesting flavor pairings or creating unique milkshakes by mixing different flavors together. He’s featured in our cookbook, giving his recommendations! Max’s biggest passion? Our ooey gooey butter cake mix-in! We’re known at Ample Hills for always going to town with mix-ins. As the saying goes, “Ample mix-ins are the ample way!”. But our ooey gooey butter cake—pardon the pun—takes the cake. Max’s love of our ooey gooey butter cake is unparalleled! He likes every flavor we’ve ever made that stars this St. Louis specialty: The View, No Sleep Till Pumpkin (featuring our pumpkin ooey gooey butter cake) and of course, our classic Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. Max wants us to get even more experimental with our ooey gooey recipes. He has come up with “the perfect flavor yet to be made; it will change the ice cream game.” Give it to us, Max!
