This Thanksgiving, we want to thank each and every one of you! Your enthusiasm for our whimsical flavors fuels our creativity and keeps us coming back to the kitchen each morning hoping today will be the day we make the best flavor yet. We owe our success to your endless support.
When we make ice cream, it's about more than the flavor; it's about creating something fun that everyone can share and building a place where people can spend quality time together. Our greatest hope is that our ice cream is meaningful to you (as well as delicious). We want it to be a way you treat yourself, a reason to meet up with friends and a backdrop for your cherished memories.
Early last week, we received a letter from one of you, an ice cream lover and college student named Kirby! Instead of studying for class, Kirby decided to procrastinate by writing to us about her time at Ample Hills at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. In high school, she was hit in the head with a lacrosse ball and got a concussion. With finals and an annual family vacation to Disney World coming up, she was overwhelmed. Then she found out their usual hotel just got an ice cream shop—our ice cream shop! Kirby said, “It wasn’t long before it consumed my every thought, literally because I did not have the strength to think about anything else!” Her family indulged her newfound obsession with ice cream she hadn’t even tried yet. They went on walks and talked about her excitement to try it on the trip. Eventually, her dad sprinkled those talks with facts about her school work; she was studying without even knowing it. She did better on those finals than any year before!
Kirby with a flight of six flavors!
That was just the beginning of Kirby's relationship with Ample Hills! We’re humbled to learn how much our ice cream means to her; how it brought her and her father together, comforted her through a rough time and helped her with school. Kirby, thank you so much for sharing your story with us. It's what we believe making dessert is all about.
If you have an Ample Hills story, we’d love to hear it! Thank you for welcoming us into your lives (and freezers!). This Thanksgiving, we hope your hearts and stomachs are full.
