On July 17th (#NationalIceCreamDay) we successfully completed the Tour de Hills in one day. Katie, Jake and Lauren-- all veteran Amployees-- started off bright and early at our Brooklyn Bridge Park location and made their way to all six Ample Hills NYC locations.
A week after this successful jaunt through the boroughs, we were thrilled to see another set of adventurers successfully complete the mission in a single day!
Aside from the obvious sweet rewards that come with visiting six Ample Hills locations in one day, your sixth scoop of ice cream is on the house AND you get a free t-shirt.
Some advice if you’re going to attempt the Tour de Hills in one day:
Ice cream for breakfast?! Start early so you don’t have to rush. You’ll want to plan your adventure keeping in mind the different opening and closing times; Brooklyn Bridge Park opens the earliest on the weekend.
Hungry? Our Hell’s Kitchen location is within Gotham West Market where we’re surrounded by some pretty tasty neighbors: Ivan Ramen, Genuine Roadside, The Cannibal and more! Our Meatpacking location is actually within Bubby’s High Line in case you want to start your Tour with a delicious brunch. And our beach-side shop shares a building with delicious eateries like Ed & Bev’s and Fletcher’s Barbecue. Plan your breakfast, lunch and dinner breaks accordingly.
Taste of New York! Every Ample Hills shop has an exclusive flavor that’s inspired by its neighborhood. Take the opportunity as you’re touring the hills to try these unique flavors! The Commodore, It Came From Gowanus, The Coffee of Kings, Hell’s Kitchen Sink, Floatin’ Over The High Line and Cherry Lime Riickey.
Sunscreen and water. It’s hot out there, people. Stay hydrated!

Don’t worry, you don’t have to complete the whole circuit in one day in order to play along. As long as you visit each shop before Labor Day, the 6th scoop is on us!
